Nomadland

Un buon film e non lo troverei neanche tanto disdicevole come vincitore papabile. Fatto salvo che, da parte mia, al netto delle girandole mediatiche, non è di quei film da innalzare a emblema di una stagione cinematografica. Vedrei più sensata una consolidazione della Zhao alla regia, un talento da tenere sotto osservazione. Poi, a me hanno sempre affascinato quelle storie di stampo "kerouchiano" sull'America nomade e rurale; ma in confronto ad uno Sean Penn che, a suo tempo, riuscì di gran lunga a restituirci una contemplazione profonda della natura e del nomadismo (che poi, mi son sempre chiesto come sarebbe finito McCandless se non fosse morto e avesse fatto ritorno alla vite civile. Qui non c'è proprio una scelta, la protagonista si ritrova nomade), coadiuvata dalle magistrali musiche di Vedder, in questo film quella contemplazione ha un sapore poetico un pò retorico e, oserei dire, a tratti scanzonato. Non è che mi abbia coinvolto pienamente. Penn inoltre pose maggiormente l'accento sul conflitto natura/nomadismo/civiltà consumistica (e ancora mi viene da chiedere se McCandless avrebbe effettivamente cambiato prospettiva una volta ritornato, senza cioè "imborghesirsi"), un conflitto che qui viene accennato quà e là, e benché non fosse esattamente quello il punto cruciale, quanto più una critica diretta alla condizione dei lavoratori, anche su questo la Zhao non si focalizza granché. Ma magari non era quello il fine ultimo, magari è stata una scelta voluta, ma boh.

Il Processo ai Chicago 7

L'Academy, un pò come la WWE, c'ha sempre abituato a delle sferzate inattese (penso a film un gradino meno quotati come Moonlight o Spotlight), dunque, chissà, magari questo film esce pure vincitore. E non posso dire che mi sia piaciuto. Furbetta operazione allo scopo di "commercializzare" quei figuri della sinistra radicale un tempo osservati con un certo sospetto. Ora mi spiego la presenza di Coen nel film, lato ovviamente comico il quale catalizza tutta l'attenzione sui quei figli dei fiori rivoluzionari, garantendogli una certa dose di appeal e simpatia. Boh, magari mi sbaglio e dico una stronzata: ma Sorkin è riuscito persino a condirmeli con quella patina di "anime belle" della sinistra odierna. Ma magari sbaglio. Il film cotto a puntino per questi tempi "rivoluzionari" in USA.

Oltre a questi due, ho visto Mank tempo fa. Non penso raccoglierà granché. Magari il montaggio, la fotografia, lo script o se proprio l'Academy vuole sbilanciarsi, pusha la Seyfried (ma non credo). A Pinocchio avrei visto bene una candidatura per le scenografie, ottimo lavoro di location managing soprattutto.

Nomadland non l'ho ancora visto, ma da tempo seguo la Zhao, il suo Riders è fighissimo. Quindi sono contento, vittoria che ho trovato abbastanza telefonata, anche perchè il resto non è che fossero film da candidatura onestamente.

Mank si porta via scenografia e fotografia, perchè è giusto dato che si rifanno agli anni '40.

Sorpeso del montaggio a Sound Of Metal, pensavo che il reparto tecnico fosse questione sua e di Tenet, ma pensavo che questo andasse al film di Nolan.

Peccato che Sorkin faccia questo da sempre, mai visto West Wing?
Rappresenta una visione chiara e definita del mondo dei democratici. Qui da noi usano il termine Radical Chic di solito.

Vinterberg vendica lo smacco Sorrentiniano. :sorridente:
Molto presto lo recupero il suo ultimo film.
Quanto ci stava l'Oscar a quel filmone che è "Il Sospetto".

E niente, torno a dire che benché Nomadland non mi abbia granché coinvolto, non mi dispiace che abbia vinto.
E' un premio meritato alla Zhao, bravo talento e da seguire.

Oh, l'Oscar a Hopkins dopo 30 anni mi suscita un certo interesse.
Il film lo recupero senz'altro.

Ho visto Promising Young Woman e Trial of the Chicago 7
Il primo, sinceramente, mi è sembrato un film per adolescenti depresse, il secondo non male, anche se alcune parti mi sono sembrate troppo tendenti alla commedia.

Nei prossimi giorni mi recupero Nomadland e The Father.
