Ma in realtà dipende tutto dal tipo di contratto. State paragonando quelli a tempo degli attori con contratti annuali che non c'entrano nulla. Tra l'altro un attore in quello temporaneo spesso ha impedimenti alla libertà ben più ampi di questo, poi che tra un contratto e l'altro possano fare quello che vogliono è palese, salvo poi perdere qualsiasi possibilitàdi contratto se pisciano fuori dal vaso (vedi Gina Carano). Ah per quanto fosse solo un esempio The Rock non lo prenderei in considerazione essendo quasi sempre il produttore dei suoi stessi film, nonché l'attore più pagato al mondo. È palese che abbia un potere contrattuale totalmente diverso. E il discorso sta tutto li, nel potere contrattuale, in uno stato fortemente liberale come gli Stati Uniti. Se vi siete accorti oggi che il capitalismo fa schifo buongiorno.
Per fare un esempio semplicissimo e nostrano i calciatori del Napoli nei loro contratti cedono i diritti di immagine e di conseguenza non possono averne un ritorno o sponsor personali, anzi devono partecipano gratuitamente alle pubblicità degli sponsor del club.

E infatti per me il problema vero e serio resta quello dell'assicurazione medica. Soprattutto in un lavoro che la mette così tanto a rischio. Questa non è una lotta tra liberali e socialisti bensì tra liberali e liberali come spesso poi sono le lotte americane. A me fa storcere il naso vederli imbestialirsi per questi temi e poi fare spallucce su temi più sociali come la copertura medica.

Ma poi il discorso resta sempre sul fatto se cedi o no i diritti di immagine, cosa che succede negli Stati Uniti come in Italia. Tanto per fare un altro esempio: Ibra a Sanremo. Ibra può andarci perché ha stretto l'accordo prima di rinnovare col Milan, nel momento del rinnovo quell'impegno già esisteva e il Milan ha dovuto accettarlo così com'era. In caso contrario col cazzo che Ibra avrebbe potuto andarci. In tantissimi contratti ci sono clausole sul comportamento o sull'avvallamento da parte di chi ti mette sotto contratto di cosa puoi o non puoi fare. E più è liberale l'ambito e più le libertà di chi firma sono in funzione del suo potere contrattuale. Al contrario dove esistono contratti nazionali è garantita la stessa libertà d'azione a tutti.

Guarda, nel momento in cui si stipula un contratto, le clausole possono essere sempre differenti. Con XFactor non so come sia, mi affido a quello che dici tu, ma io personalmente lavoro con due personaggi televisivi da anni e questa cosa non mi è mai capitata. Nel momento in cui vanno in programmi televisivi Rai, ad esempio, viene chiesto di non fare ospitate in programmi Mediaset e di non sponsorizzare contenuti della concorrenza (quindi anche Netflix, Prime Video, ecc.), ma sui social possono sponsorizzare tutti i prodotti e guadagnare come vogliono. Cibo, vestiti, hotel, monetizzare su Twitch, Cameo, OnlyFans, tutto. È veramente raro che non sia così, anzi io non l'ho proprio mai sentito prima di questo tuo esempio su XFactor su decine di programmi a cui mi è capitato di lavorare.

Pertanto la decisione attuale della WWE, così de botto, di vietargli questa attività, non credo sia dettata da una violazione delle clausole dei contratti, o no?

With unprecedented access to WWE’s archive, the ten-week programming block features eight original two-hour documentaries under the award-winning “Biography” banner showcasing the stories behind some of the most memorable WWE Superstars of all time including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin®, “Macho Man” Randy Savage®, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper™, Booker T®, Shawn Michaels®, Bret Hart, Mick Foley and Ultimate Warrior. The new “Biography” specials are helmed by some of the industry’s top directors and storytellers to chronicle the success of these WWE Legends and their lasting mark on both sports entertainment and popular culture. Each special will air weekly at 8pm ET/PT beginning Sunday, April 18.

Following at 10pm ET/PT, the brand-new series “WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures,” led by WWE’s Stephanie McMahon and Paul “Triple H” Levesque launches a hunt for some of WWE’s most iconic missing memorabilia including Kane’s original mask, Ric Flair’s Butterfly Robe, Andy Kaufman’s neckbrace, Andre The Giant’s passport and more. In order to find these quintessential relics, the team will join forces with WWE Legends including Undertaker, Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Booker T and more to bring these items home to the WWE Archives.

“Biography: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin” - Directed by Jake Rogal and Executive Produced by Jason Hehir (“The Last Dance,” “Andre The Giant”), this film traces the story of the man who became WWE’s biggest star in the 90s. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s authentic, fiery personality epitomized WWE’s “Attitude Era” and transformed him into a pop culture icon. After nearly being paralyzed by a neck injury, Austin made one of the greatest comebacks in WWE history. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

“Biography: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper” – Directed by Emmy and Peabody Award winner Joe Lavine (ESPN 30 for 30 “Playing for the Mob,” HBO “Namath”), this film focuses on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who is universally considered one of WWE’s greatest villains. During his Hall of Fame career, he played the role of the antagonist against a who’s who of WWE greats, while amassing more than 30 championships.

“Biography: “Macho Man” Randy Savage” – Produced by Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman (“Cocaine Cowboys,” “Screwball,” ESPN 30 for 30 “The U”), this film will tell the larger-than-life story of one of the most colorful and charismatic Superstars to ever step foot inside the ring. With two WWE Championships, four WCW® World Championships and a 14-month reign as Intercontinental Champion, Savage became known for his famous catch phrases, larger-than-life personality and the enormous, flashy robes he wore into the ring.

“Biography: Booker T” – Directed by Emmy and Peabody Award winner George Roy (“The Curse of the Bambino”, “Mayweather”), this film showcases one of the greatest Superstars in sports entertainment history. Booker T is an 11-time WCW Tag Team Champion, a six-time World Champion, winner of the 2006 King of the Ring Tournament, and a two-time (2013 and 2019) inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. In addition to his Hall of Fame career in the ring, Booker T also went on to become a color commentator for WWE’s weekly programming.

“Biography: Shawn Michaels” – Directed by Joe Lavine (“Rowdy” Roddy Piper, ESPN 30 for 30 “Playing for the Mob,” HBO “Namath”), this film chronicles the wild life of one of WWE’s greatest performers and most enduring villains. After drug addiction nearly cost him his life, Shawn Michaels, aka “The Heartbreak Kid,” made one of the most improbable late-career comebacks in WWE history. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

“Biography: Ultimate Warrior” – Directed by Daniel Amigone (“24/7 Red Wings: Maple Leafs - Road to the Winter Classic,” “Chain of Command,” “The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth”) and Executive Produced by Jake Rogal and Jason Hehir (“The Last Dance,” “Andre The Giant”), this film shares the story of Ultimate Warrior, a WWE Hall of Famer who inspired an entire generation of fans living by his mantra of “always believe.” With his colorful face paint and equally colorful interviews, Ultimate Warrior is perhaps best remembered for defeating Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to become both the WWE Champion and the Intercontinental Champion.

“Biography: Mick Foley” – Directed by Thomas Odelfelt (24/7 “Mayweather-Marquez,” 24/7 “Penguins-Capitals: Road To The NHL Winter Classic,” HBO “Courtside At The NBA Finals”) and Executive Produced by Jake Rogal and Jason Hehir (“The Last Dance,” “Andre The Giant”), this film follows the unique, multifaceted career of Mick Foley, a 2013 WWE Hall of Fame inductee better known as “Mankind.” A fan favorite during WWE’s “Attitude Era,” Foley shocked audiences in 1998 during a career defining match as he was thrown off the top of the Hell in a Cell by Undertaker.

“Biography: Bret “Hitman” Hart” – Directed by George Roy (“Booker T,” “The Curse of the Bambino,” “Mayweather,” HBO “Mantle”), this film tells the story of Bret Hart, one of the greatest technical athletes in WWE history, earning him nicknames “The Hit Man” and “The Excellence of Execution.” Throughout his storied career, the five-time WWE title holder famously defeated “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Yokozuna, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.

Io ero convinto come Foley che sarebbe spuntato Truth (che tra l'altro è il wrestler PERFETTO per SNL, uno dei sogni più bizzarri della mia vita prevede un dialogo tra Carrey e Truth).

Con la Road to Wrestlemania in pieno svolgimento, la WWE avrebbe apportato un brusco cambio di direzione per la politica di gestione dei piani creativi. La ragione sarebbe limitare quanto più è possibile la fuga di notizie verso l’esterno.

A rivelare questa indiscrezione è Ringsidenews, che parla di un “editto” della WWE verso i produttori ed i componenti del creative team. Ecco di cosa si tratta.

Stop alla condivisione con i wrestler
L’invito ai produttori della WWE è quello di non condividere più alcun dettaglio creativo con il talento oggetto del copione stesso. Per condividere queste informazioni con il diretto interessato, sarà necessario chiedere preventivamente il permesso a Vince McMahon o Bruce Prichard.

Ovviamente, la mancata possibilità di condividere e proporre un’idea prima di metterla in pratica, di fatto eliminerà il feedback o anche solo il punto di vista dei diretti interessati, ovvero i lottatori. Una prassi, quella di chiedere e ottenere un feedback da loro, che invece era ampiamente in uso prima di queste modifiche. Di fatto, ora, i talenti non sapranno la loro direzione creativa, in particolare dove sono diretti in ottica Wrestlemania. Ora il talento non sa cosa sta facendo.


La WWE non sta permettendo alle persone di sapere costa sta succedendo. Questo non si limita agli show televisivi. Ci è stato detto che molte superstar sono “al limite”, poichè ben poche di loro sanno quali sono i piani per loro a Wrestlemania. I membri del Creative Team devono chiedere il permesso prima di condividere qualsiasi dettaglio con i talenti!

Morale basso nel backstage
Il non conoscere i piani futuri, in particolare per Wrestlemania, certamente ha influito negativamente sul morale nel backstage, descritto dalla stessa fonte come “ai minimi storici”.

La maggior tutela rispetto alle fughe di notizie che questa strategia garantisce, dunque, starebbe pagando un prezzo in termini di morale e fiducia da parte degli atleti. Vedremo a consuntivo se questa tattica sarà dunque vantaggiosa per la WWE o se invece si tramuterà in una sorta di autogoal.

Prima gli impediscono di monetizzare con i social, adesso non potranno nemmeno piu capire la direzione che il proprio personaggio rischia di prendere...
