Prossimo anno c'hanno già 3 match pronti quindi poco male:
Gunther - Rhodes, Rock - Reigns, Punk - Rollins salvo tragici imprevisti.

Il problema non era Reigns vs Rock ma questa ostinazione a mettere i part-timer nei title match che inevitabilmente influiscono sull'hype dell'evento.

Per farvi un esempio, WrestleMania 28 alla vigilia aveva due title match di cui uno era Punk vs Jericho che era un Dream match più Taker vs Triple H nell'HIAC e Rock - Cena Dream match.

Ecco. Se a Wrestlemania 29 fai Rock vs Cena senza titolo e metti Punk con qualcun altro per il titolo, elevi il titolo e crei un minimo di incertezza su entrambi i match.
Stessa cosa su Reigns/HHH di WM32 anche se effettivamente lì la storia era di Reigns che inseguiva il titolo.

Io ad esempio non ci posso credere che non avremo mai Rollins vs Ambrose vs Reigns nel Main Event di Wrestlemania eppure sarebbe il degno epilogo per i nomi più rappresentativi di questa generazione.
Anche vero che non abbiamo mai avuto né Orton vs Cena né Edge vs Cena in singles match a WM.

Appearing on the Will Cain Show, The Great One broke down how things were supposed to play out.

“The original plan was for me to come back as the baby face, the big baby face come back and face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship and put on here in Philadelphia, the biggest main event of all time. Continuing on, Rock said that disappointing a section of WWE’s fanbase “hurt his heart,” so he decided it was time to switch things up. While discussing fans’ love for Rhodes, the Hollywood star briefly broke character to pay tribute to his rival.

“As I came back, I started to realize that while fans love the idea of The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, there was also this other storyline building that they had been invested in for a couple of years with a guy named Cody Rhodes, who, wrestling royalty, Dusty Rhodes is his dad. Dustin Rhodes is his brother.

One or two things could have happened in that moment, and this happened in January. We could have either kept trucking through. I’m a director of the board. I got a little bit of influence here in the WWE. We could have kept trucking through. The thing that bugged me, I was in Hawaii, and I realized, man, there’s a segment of fans here who are just disappointed.

It hurt my heart to think that, well, I don’t want to truck through and leave these fans disappointed. But not only that, we also got a guy in Cody Rhodes who’s been working his ass off for years now. This is his story. Who, by the way, Cody, as we speak very openly here, could not be a better human being.”

In realtà il match in sé fu carino, sicuramente meglio di quella merda di Main Event tra Triple H e Orton.

Più che perso direi che non hanno voluto perché...bho? Non togliere spazio a HHH e Orton? Chissà. Ma alla fine 'sti cazzi, il mese hanno fatto quel meraviglioso Last Man Standing e va bene così.
